On Wednesday, the BCS staff meeting was turned into a "speed dating" activity!
We called it Speed Discussions! They were given three minutes to discuss each slide that included quotes, questions, pictures, or a video. After the three minutes were up, they switched partners and were shown another slide to discuss. An example of one of the slides is shown above. After watching this video, BCS teachers discussed:
1. Since we do not have eraser pounders anymore...what jobs/responsibilities can we empower our students with?
2. Do our classrooms mirror the classroom in the cartoon Charlie Brown? How? How are we different?
3. In the last scene, how could have the teacher used the situation to teach empathy to the rest of the class?
