The 2011 Birbery Awards took place at the Baldwin Library on Wednesday, March 29th. BCS Media Specialist Ann Truesdell and Barbara Clark hosted the event with both Derby and Berkshire Middle Schools. The Birbery Committee voted on the “best” book for 6th grade students published in the past year (our own version of the Newbery Awards). These students read 8 books over the past few months and then attended book clubs during their lunch hour to discuss the books (via Skype) with students at Berkshire and Derby. Great Job BCS Birbery participants!
