W.A.G. post by Mrs. Chinn

Dear BCS,

This past week came to an exciting end with our Battle of the Books on Friday morning.  Our students all did an amazing job answering some very tough questions after having read some fantastic books.  This was a great way to kick off March is Reading month!  On behalf of Mr. Hartley and me, I would like to extend a special thank you to Mrs. Clark, Mrs. Truesdell, all of our parents that volunteered, and all of our students that participated in this year’s Battle of the Books!  Please see below for more information from Mrs. Clark on the battle and be sure to contratulate The Michigan Marshmallows when you see them.
This week also brings about some exciting opportunities for our BCS students as some of our 7th and 8th grade students venture to Chicago Thursday and Friday and our 6th grade students head to Lansing on Friday!  I am looking forward to joining our students in Chicago but cannot wait to hear back from the 6th graders about their trip as well.  BCS will also be sending several staff members this week to present at the 36th annual MACUL conference in Grand Rapids.  MACUL is the largest technology related conference in Michigan related to innovations in educational practices.  Mr. Hartley will also be at the MACUL conference on Thursday and Friday.  As both he and I will not be available, Pizza with the Principal has been cancelled for Thursday at 6:30; however, please join the PTSA for their monthly meeting at 7 PM.

Have a GEEKed Week,

Patricia
